Kayak Santa Lucia - Spot Sloths in Limón

Summary: We went on a kayak tour with Alex, our tour guide, and it was an incredible experience! We were able to see so many animals along the way. Alex took his time to explain everything in detail, and his passion and respect for nature really shine through. Overall, it was a fantastic adventure, and we would happily do it again anytime.

Summary: This was such a magical, medicinal experience! Our guide was excellent, friendly, and knowledgable. We saw sloths, birds, turtles, and other wildlife and foliage. Make sure you're prepared to duck under logs!

Summary: Spent our first day kayaking and looking for wildlife. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and he took his time and we saw many different animals. Several sloths, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, a toucan and some creepy big spiders and more! The hike was beautiful with a fabulous overlook of the Caribbean and Punta UVA.

Summary: This was a very interesting and beautiful tour! It includes a 1.5 hour walk up the mountain and a 1.5 hour kayak tour down the river. Our guide Francisco was fantastic, he was very kind and like a walking encyclopedia. He did a great job of spotting animals and teaching us about them. We got to see a two toed sloth, a three toed slow, white faced monkeys, blue morphos, tiger heron, river turtles, tree cutter ants and more. Francisco also taught us so much about the plants around us, including their history within the area and how they relate to the environment and animals. We also got to learn about the history of Punta Uva and a lot of interesting history about the indigenous groups of Costa Rica. The hike is very easy and there are only a few steep spots, at which Francisco was sure to help us. The kayaking is also very easy and relaxing. At the end, we received a fresh pipa. Thank you for your knowledge and kindness Francisco. Fue un placer!

We were so excited to see sloths… and we actually saw six! 🦥💚 What I loved the most about this tour is how respectful it is with the environment: Alex gives you clear instructions, but also lets you explore at your own pace. It’s a calm and quiet experience, perfect for connecting with nature and truly enjoying every detail. At the same time, it has a touch of adventure, as you pass through narrow tunnels surrounded by amazing wildlife. This tour is designed for people who genuinely love nature and want an authentic experience—unhurried and full of wildlife wonders.

Summary: I absolutely enjoyed it. The fact that it ended up that I was the only one that booked that time and that day and they still went thru with it. I had Alex as my guide. He was very chill and It almost felt like having a tour with a friend. He even tried to look for areas where sloths would be in close proximity just because I mentioned my obsession with sloths. We did see some but up high in the trees. He took me on a hike up in the forest and gave me some history. It rained while we kayaked too which made the experience fun. He gave me a cold coconut drink at the end too. 10/10 👌👌
